- I was raised on a ranch in the Colorado mountains and moved to Hawaii a week before the 1970 new year rolled in. I started writing when I was diagnosed with cancer eight or nine months before my 50th birthday. I started with poetry, then wrote a kids book for my granddaughter, Vivian. I called it A Kitten Named Kumquat. My trilogy's early beginnings came from that story--which is now called Kitten/Cat Zendo. Now, almost 15 year later, I'm writing a simplified version of my Ambersand Castle Trilogy as a series of chapter books for young adults. I'm calling that series: Secret World. I did my own drawings for the covers of my books so far. I've included several examples here. The first two books of The Ambersand Castle Trilogy are already in print. They are: Well-Kept Secrets and The Mystique of Ambersand. The third book, From Cyberspace to Pyramids has been sent in for publication but has not been released yet. I've already written Kao Dimension, the first book of Secret World but haven't finished editing it
